Sherry Middleton Obituary

Middleton, Sherry 10/14/1950 - 9/13/2022 Sherry Lee Middleton, age 71, of Newaygo, MI, formerly of East Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Tuesday September 13th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Janet Thompson, her husband, Jeffrey Joseph Middleton, and her son, Samuel Jason Middleton. She is survived by her longtime companion, Dave Fleet, her son Joseph Middleton and daughter Brandy (John) Todd, and all her grandchildren; Halle, Alexandra, Kate, Brooke, Olivia, and Owen. Sherry was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked for over a decade at Pier One Imports while living in East Grand Rapids. She volunteered for the Veterans, and was an avid supporter of the VFW for decades. In her teen years Sherry loved sports and played varsity basketball and was also a Majorette who twirled fire batons. Sherry was a true original who had a great sense of humor with the best stories that would make you laugh until you cried, was very creative and whimsical, and dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, attending and supporting all their sporting events and academic achievements. She had a way about her that made you feel special in her presence, and there was never a dull moment when you were with Sherry. Sherry didn't "sweat the small stuff" and had an innate sense early on of what was important in life and lived that way to its fullest. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to your local VFW. A Celebration of Sherry's life will be open to all family and friends on Sunday, November 20th at 1:00pm at The Casino Club, 3260 Salerno Dr. NE, Grand Rapids MI 49525.
