Sherry Gayle Ziriax, 79, of San Angelo, TX passed peacefully on October 28, 2025. Sherry was born December 26, 1945, to William Franklin Ziriax and Opal Lee Brewer Gray in San Angelo, Tx. She graduated from Central High School and received a degree in Education from Angelo State University. After teaching in San Antonio, TX for a few years, she moved to New York City where she worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines for several years. Sherry went on to pursue many different passions in her life leading her to Atlanta, GA, Branson, MO, Houston & Ft. Worth, TX.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, & sisters Barbara Allen, Frankcene Hoofard, & Sheila Vinyard.
She is survived by her nieces, Melody Barber & Jana Haynes, Chris Garcia, & nephews Gary Barber & wife Kay, Larry Hoofard, Ken Hoofard, Rick Hoofard & wife Monette, Ron Hoofard & wife Maureen along with many great-nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family gathering scheduled at a later date. Family requests any memorials be made to your favorite animal rescue in honor of Sherry's lifelong passion and work with cats.
