Funeral, 11 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2026, Poplar Springs Christian Church, 6115 Old Stage Rd., Raleigh, The Rev. Charles W. Brooks, Pastor, Officiating. Visitation, 10:30 AM to 11 AM, prior to the service. Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Friday, February 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
Survivors; husband, Michael V. Johnson; children, Alex Johnson and Alexis Johnson; granddaughter, Raelynn Woolard; parents, James and Shirley Chavis Leach; siblings, Jackie P. Foster, Todd Leach (Maria) and James Leach Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

I just heard the news this morning and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Shirlene was my best friend. My heart goes out to all who loved her. I will miss our talks and the laughs we shared. All those who loved her have a new guardian angel. Till we meet again, my friend.

I´m so saddened to hear of Shirlene´s passing. She was always such a bright light at the office, beautiful smile and quick to laugh and giggle. No words are really adequate to express our feelings in times of loss.
