She was a warm and wonderful person and a great support to me as a young page. Truly a life well lived

As one of the hundreds of U.S. House pages she "mothered," I salute the life and deeds of this wonderful role model. Her smile and greeting was a daily reminder that she had our backs. For a then 15-yr old, her influence was significant in my development into an independent adult far away from my family. Rest in Peace.

Mom A - your care, love, helpfulness & compassion were unmatched and made Page School in DC feel like home for this 16 year old from Arkansas in 1989. Thanking God for your light & love
My favorite memory was you cutting up the dance floor at my wedding in ND in 1994 with your big, beautiful smile
Prayers of comfort, love, peace & strength to her beautiful family, friends & loved ones. May all of the memories made make you smile with gratitude!!
Love always - Diane Nelson (Magen)

As a House Page 1989, I can honestly say that Shirley Alexander was, for many of us, the heart of the program. I am trying to think of a time that she didn't have a genuine smile on her face or joyful laugh, and I can't think of one. Sending deepest condolences to her family and all who knew and love her.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Shirley Alexander´s passing. While her title at the Page School was Administrative Assistant, everyone who passed through those halls knew she was much more than that. She was the heart of the program - a steady presence who made each page feel seen, valued, and cared for in their home away from home. As a member of the 1994 Page Class, I fondly remember her warmth and genuine interest in getting to know each of us. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting impression on generations of young people who served in the House of Representatives. She will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to her husband, family, and friends during this difficult time.
