Shirley Azevedo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 4, 2025.
Shirley Azevedo, beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and lifelong rancher, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025. Her life was a beautiful reflection of devotion - to her family, her animals, and the ranching lifestyle that she cherished with all her heart.

A true cowgirl in spirit and soul, She had a deep and lifelong love for ranching and horses and was a gifted horsewoman -raising champion cutting and cowhorses and earning the title of Reserve World Champion at the age of 73. Her love extended to her sheep and cattle, all of which were an essential part of her legacy and the life she built with pride. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years, and loved encouraging and teaching children how to care for animals.

Alongside the love of her life, Ralph Azevedo, Shirley built a life rooted in hard work, love, and tradition. Together, they raised their children, Brodie and Dana Azevedo, and Shirley was also a loving stepmother to Gini Betts. She loved helping to manage their fifth generation cattle ranch, branding calves every spring and all of the everyday responsibilities the lifestyle brought with it. Shirley was especially proud to be a grandmother to her granddaughter, Reese.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Azevedo; her children, Brodie Azevedo and Dana Azevedo; her stepdaughter, Gini; and her granddaughter, Reese.
