Shirley Baugess

Shirley Faye Baugess, age 79, peacefully went to be the Lord on August 7, 2023. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her late husband, Jim. Shirley was born November 10, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Emerson and Faye Longmire.
She was a strong-willed woman that loved her family and was happiest when spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley's strong faith was a source of comfort to her, especially during her various health challenges the past few years. To say she enjoyed music was an understatement, prior to Jim's passing in 2021, Shirley and Jim spent countless hours playing, learning, sharing and listening to Gospel and Bluegrass music. She was a good cook and her home-cooked meals were some of the best. If you knew her, than you know one of her favorites was a good bowl of soup-beans with a slice of chocolate cake in it!
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Jim; brothers: Raymond, Gordon, Ken, Tom, Lloyd, Johnny and Harold; sisters: Betty, Sue and Alvina.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Christina, Phyllis, Dale (Jennifer); grandchildren: Valerie (Billy) Monst, Matt (Allie) Monst, Zachary (Amy), Kyle (Abbey) and Jill (Colin) Baugess; great grandchildren: Aurora, Athena, Calie, Blake, Blaze, Maxx, Aubrie and Audree; brother: Doug (Beverly) Longmire; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Per Shirley's request there will be no funeral services at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Shirley in the future. Arrangements completed at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory.
