Shirley was a wonderful wife and mother. She was very kind hearted and caring, often considering other's needs before her own. She loved spending time in her flower gardens and setting up bird and squirrel feeders. Shirley also enjoyed going to the mountains, the beach, and just being outdoors in general. But her most favorite pastimes were spent with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include daughter, Peggy Fury of Winston Salem, NC; son, Aaron Kelly Akers of Albemarle, NC; daughter, Ethel Darlene Hines of Albemarle, NC; daughter, Frankie Reed of Albemarle; and daughter, Stephanie Blalock of Richfield, NC.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Beachum family.
