Shirley Brown Obituary

Shirley Brown

March 22, 1954 - November 3, 2025

Shirley M. Brown, age 71, of Waterville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1954, to the late Christian and Jeanette (White) Niesen in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been preceded in death by her nine brothers, Roy, Christie, Jerry, Roger, Jimmy, Donald, Doug, Eugene, and Greg.

On February 15, 1975, Shirley married the love of her life, Ronald Brown, and together they shared more than 50 wonderful years together. Their bond was a true testament to enduring partnership and family.

A proud graduate of Lakota High School in West Chester, Ohio, Shirley later earned her associate's degree in Medical Terminology from Stautzenberger College. She was a former member of Springdale Church of the Nazarene in Cincinnati, and Westgate Chapel in Toledo, where her faith, love of music, and joy in singing in the church choirs were important parts of her life.

Shirley will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, Nana, aunt, and great-aunt whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She was an avid fan of her Cincinnati sports teams-the Bengals and the Reds-and loved capturing life's moments through photography, quilting, and cheering on her grandchildren at their many activities.

Her legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Along with her husband, Ronald, Shirley is survived by her daughters, Jeanetta (Shalon Smith) Brown of Tampa, Florida; and Amy (Ben) Hagan of Sylvania, Ohio; grandchildren, Brett, Jade, and Bryce Hagan, and Alejandra Smith; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Shirley also carried in her heart the memory of her infant son, Steven Brown, whom she now holds in heaven.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life at a visitation on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence St., Whitehouse, Ohio 43571. Interment will follow at Wakeman Cemetery, in Waterville, Ohio.
