Shirley Brown, age 86 of Plymouth Township, passed away on November 17, 2025.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 17, 1939 to her parents, the late Cecilia (née Belisle) and Treverton Lewis. Shirley had one wonderful sister, Donelda (née Lewis) Carson, who predeceased her.
Shirley was a devoted wife and mother who took joy in caring for her family and home. She especially loved having her entire family together for special occasions. She loved golfing with family and friends, traveling, and gardening in her yard. Her Catholic faith was of utmost importance to her and she spent a great deal of time volunteering for a variety of church ministries.
Shirley is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Gerald Brown; loving mother of five children – DeeAnn Brown, Collette (Peter) Dale, Cheryl (Frank) Deeter, Alan Brown, and Jeffrey Brown; proud grandmother of ten grandchildren – Brett Deeter (fiancée Taylor Wildman), Jaclyn (Nickolas) Burr, Lauren Dale, Emily Deeter, Jacob Brown, Joseph Deeter, Isabelle Dale, Hannah Brown, Samuel Brown, Joshua Dale, and two great-grandchildren – Violet Burr and Henry Deeter.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street,
Plymouth on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. There will be a Rosary Service beginning at 6:00 P.M.
Visitation will resume on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M.
Shirley’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
