Shirley A. Bruce, a beloved soul who brought joy and laughter to all who knew her, passed away on October 11, 2023 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 3 Months, 11 Days.
Shirley was born on June 30, 1947 in Adamsville, TN to her loving parents, Roscoe and Mandy Milford Gilchrist. She grew up surrounded by warmth and love, and these values shaped the compassionate person she became.
A collector of collections, Shirley had a knack for finding beauty in the simplest things. She cherished every object that crossed her path and delighted in sharing her treasures with others. But it wasn't just material possessions that she gave so freely; Shirley also showered others with her infectious laughter and kind-heartedness.
In her free time, Shirley found solace in the company of friends over a game of dominoes. enthusiasm for this simple pleasure was contagious, as she brought people together through the sheer joy and camaraderie of playing together.
Shirley had a green thumb like no other. Her garden flourished under her loving care, offering vibrant blooms that mirrored the beauty within her heart. The fruits of her labor were a testament to her nurturing spirit and dedication.
Professionally, Shirley dedicated many years of service to UPS. From loading trucks to taking care of any task at hand, she approached every duty with diligence and an unwavering work ethic.
But above all else, Shirley found solace in her faith. She recently found comfort attending Stantonville church of Christ where she formed deep spiritual connections. On September 19, 2023, she was baptized as a testament to her unwavering commitment to her beliefs.
Shirley's memory will be cherished by her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted son, Kevin Bruce of Westville, FL,; her beloved daughter, Robin Kelley and husband Kris of Jackson, TN. Her legacy continues through her 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, who will always carry a piece of her vibrant spirit with them.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Shirley is survived by her brother, Joe Gilchrist and wife Mary Nell of Deanburg, TN; two sisters, Linda Sue Moore and husband Kenneth of Dyersburg, TN, and Martha Dudley and husband Karl of Adamsville, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
Shirley joins her loved ones who have passed on before her, including her son Brian Bruce in 2018; her sister Dorothy Pearl Gilchrist; four brothers, Earl, Gerald, Billy, and Jimmy Doyle Gilchrist.
As we bid farewell to Shirley A. Bruce, let us carry forward the beautiful memories she has gifted us. May we find solace in the joy she brought to our lives and strive to spread that same love and compassion with every step we take.
