Shirley J. Craft, of Harrison, was called home on September 4, 2024, at the age of 84. Shirley was born on August 23, 1940, in Worley, KY to Obie P. and Elva (Vanover) Jones. She married Jack Craft on March 1, 1958, and together they were blessed with one daughter, Kathy. Shirley worked for twenty years at Union Central Life as a Mortgage Loan Administrator. After retiring, she and Jack enjoyed traveling in their camper all over the country. She was a member of Legacy Christian Church and enjoyed her church family. She was touched by their visits after Jack passed away. Shirley also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. The one talent she had, that is unique, is she knew how to play a dulcimer. Many people today haven't seen them played, but Shirley played solo and with groups.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband: Jack Craft; parents: Obie Paul & Elva (Vanover) Jones; siblings: Dallas "Bud" (Janet "Jinny") Jones, Brenda and Linda Jones; brother-in-law: Oldel Craft; sister-in-law: Sylvia Craft; father-in-law & mother-in-law: Jasper & Dorthy (Neace) Craft; niece: Deenah Jones.
Her love of others will live on with her daughter and son-in-law: Kathy & Paul McMullin; dear sister: Patty (Steve) Owens; brother-in-law: James Craft; nieces & nephews: Eddie (Debbie) Craft; David (Sondra) Craft, Timothy McCollum, Molly (Ron) McCollum, Lorryn (Willie) Bruns, & Shelia (Ben) Byrd, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Legacy Christian Church, 217 Vine St, Harrison, OH 45030 on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service 11 am. Pastor Mark Garrett will be officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Meet at the front gate at 2:30 pm and we will proceed to the graveside.
In Shirley's memory, memorials may be made to Legacy Christian Church, Amy for Africa, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A funeral home representative will assist with memorials during the visitation. If you cannot attend, memorials may be mailed to Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030.

Dennis and Kathy Kelley

October 21, 2024

Dennis and I first met Jack and Shirley when we came to Legacy Christian back in 2008. They were the sweetest couple. We joined a Life Group with them and Barton and a few other couples. We had the best times. When it came time for Dennis and I to be baptized Jack and Shirley stood as our sponsors.
They were the perfect example of what it is to be a humble and kindhearted Christian. We will miss her dearly as we have missed Jack as well. Until we meet again dear friends Love in Christ Jesus !
