Shirley Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Samuel L Vance & Sons Funeral Directors on Dec. 24, 2025.
Shirley Ann Davis was born on September 6, 1962 in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Lucille Nickolson and Roosevelt Davis.
She peacefully exchanged time on earth for eternity with Christ on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and later became a member of First Baptist Church of North Little Rock, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor William L. Robinson. There, she faithfully served on the Senior Usher Board, sharing her warm smile and kind spirit with everyone she encountered.
A woman full of life, Shirley's vibrant personality and joyful heart, were unmatched. She loved to dance, take photos, cook, and care for children. She adored her grandchildren and treasured her family above all else. Affectionately known as "Beyonce" among friends, Shirley was truly the life of every gathering - radiating energy, laughter, and love wherever she went.
Throughout her life, Shirley embraced new adventures, living in Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan before returning home to Little Rock, Arkansas, to be close to her loved ones. Her infectious zest for life, deep love for children, and unwavering devotion to family will be cherished forever.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a granddaughter, Skylar Bell; five siblings, Josephine Jackson, Rosie Christian, Johnnie Beverley, Leon Nickolson, and Velesque Nickolson; and a nephew, Julian Nickolson.
Left to cherish her spirit and remember her love are: her son, Martez Bell Sr. (Sherell) and daughter, Mercedes Baltimore; four grandchildren, Mar'Quann "MJ" Bell, Martez "Spike" Bell Jr., Zoey Bell, and X'zavia "Zavi" Porter; three sisters, Lenora Bell and Azilee Nickolson, both of Chicago, IL, and Angela Nickolson of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Edward Christian of Chicago, IL and Deloyd Nickolson of Fayetteville, NC; special nieces and nephews whom she helped raise as her own – Ebony Canada, Chris Canada, A'Mari Phillips, and A'Moni Paige; along with a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Shirley's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Psalm 84:10-12:
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
