Shirley Louise Devore, 84, of Mingo Junction, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was born on Monday, October 7, 1940, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Katherine (Griffin) Mozingo. Shirley was Methodist by faith and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She truly never met a stranger, having a love for everyone she ever met.
She is survived by her children, Pattie Heatherington, Donna (Peter) Salerno, Donald J. Devore Jr., Carol (Paul) Gross, Brenda Monroe, Shirley (Ron) Majewski, and Roberta (James) Elliot; a daughter-in-law, Wanitta Devore; 21 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald J. Devore Sr. in 2013; two sons, Steve and Michael Devore; two granddaughters, Inae Heatherington and Michelle Foster; a grandson, James Elliott Jr.; a great grandson, Jesse Harper; and two sons-in-law, John Heatherington and William Monroe.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, Blaschalk Chapel, 115 Union Street, Mingo Junction.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Weirton Geriatric Center, 2nd floor and Scott from Hospice for their time and loving care of Shirley.
