Shirley Lillian Drew Studwell

Shirley was born in Norwalk, CT to the late David D. Drew and Florence P. Drew. She was married to the late Earnest Earl Studwell. Her brother Peter D. Drew, and sister Marilyn Joyce Doty, both preceded her in death.
She is survived by two children, April Studwell Jefferies, of Marshall, Texas and Leslie Ann Studwell, of Asheville, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Melanie J. Ray, of Deberry, Texas, Kirsty J. Foss, of Galveston, Texas, Stephanie J. Jones, of Palestine, Texas and Victoria L. France, of Asheville, North Carolina. Shirley has ten great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
Shirley was active in Norwalk, CT and Asheville, NC American Red Cross. She volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. She was very active in Community Baptist Church in Norwalk with many committees and the church choir. When she moved to Asheville, she became very active at Groce United Methodist Church and served on many committees and choir.
Shirley will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Groce United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Gerald Davis will officiate. One of her last request was to inform everyone to wear bright cheerful colors to her service – no black.
In lieu for flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or Habitat for Humanity in Asheville, NC in Shirley Drew Studwell's name.
