Shirley Jean Ferguson

1937 - 2025

Shirley Jean (Hart) Ferguson, Shirley Jean Ferguson 88, of Scott Depot, WV peacefully entered Heaven's gates on October 30, 2025.

She was born and raised on Big A Mountain in Honaker, VA to the late Howard and Nance Hart on March 31, 1937. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy; brother, Carl Henry Hart; and sister, JoAnn Wallace.

Shirley married the love of her life, Jimmy Ferguson on December 23, 1958. Together they loved to travel, go to bluegrass festivals, and spend time with family and friends until his death in 2017. She was a faithful member of St. John United Methodist Church in Scott Depot, WV.

Shirley is survived by her son, Darrell Ferguson (Sharon) of Calabash, NC; daughter, Sandy Donalson (Vic) of Nitro, WV; grandchildren: Matthew of Raleigh, NC, Courtney of Greensboro, NC, Anna (Austin) of Huntsville, AL, and Kaitlyn of Greenwood, SC; sister-in-law, Judy Ferguson of Rosedale, VA; her childhood best friend, whom she loved like a sister, Sue Kiser; as well as a host of family and friends.

Funeral Service for Shirley will be 2:00 pm Friday November 7, 2025 at St. John United Methodist Church 4536 Teays Valley Road Scott Depot, WV with Pastor Bob Hill officiating.

Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service at the church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU Nursing Staff at CAMC Teays Valley for the wonderful care of our mother.
