Shirley Ann Fullagar

PENN YAN– Shirley Ann (Morrison) Fullagar, age 84, of Penn Yan, N.Y. passed away at home on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Shirley was born in Penn Yan, N.Y. on February 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Ray and Amanda Morrison. She married Gerald Fullagar in Penn Yan on September 12, 1959. Shirley was a registered nurse and retired from Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in 2009 after 52 years of nursing.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would take them to plays, on vacations, shopping trips, to parks and the lake in the summer. She loved playing bridge and was in the book club with the same friends for over 40 years. She was an avid reader.

Shirley loved to travel. She has been to France three times, China twice, Africa twice, South America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Peru). She has been to England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and most recently India. She has also been to all 50 States. In 2005 she and her husband took their entire family, children, spouse and grandchildren to Puerto Vallarta for a week.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jerry Fullagar; daughter, Susan Clark of Penn Yan; sons, Stephen (Dawn) Fullagar of Newark, N.Y. and Timothy Fullagar of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bryan Messegee, Jennifer Fullagar, Katelyn Fullagar, Garrett Fullagar, Connor Fullagar, Donald, Marta, Hunter, and Jamison; great grandchildren, Avery Messegee, Ryley Messegee, Allison Rosenbarker, and Paisley Peck; sisters-in-law, Mary Fullagar and Barbara Howell; nephews, Mike and Brian Lerch; niece Gina Lerch; and cousin, Marie Fullagar.

Per Shirley's wishes, there are no prior services. Interment in Second Milo Cemetery will be at the convenience of her family. Memories of Shirley may be shared with her family and friends at townsendwoodzinger.com
