Shirley Ann Gadberry Jones, 86, of Jacksonville passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She was born August 21, 1935, in Alexander the daughter of Russell and Wilma Shoemaker Gadberry Hayes. She married Herman L. Jones on November 12, 1952, at the Wedding Chapel in Yuma, AZ and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2018.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Keith (Terry) Jones and Curtis (Elizabeth) Jones all of Jacksonville; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Herman L. Jones, Jr., one daughter, Shirlene Kay Jones and one granddaughter.
Shirley attended Jacksonville Schools. She had been employed at Secrists Drive Inn, at the Farmers State Bank in Jacksonville and retired from the medical office of Dr. Duane Brown as a podiatry assistant. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting and gardening and was a member of Westfair Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Williamson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Jacksonville East Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Curtis Jones.
