Shirley Pauline Gervase
September 26th, 1937 ~ August 13th, 2024
On Tuesday August 13th, 2024, Shirley Pauline Gervase went home to her Lord and Savior after giving Glioblastoma a hard fight in “classic Shirley style”. She left a legacy of love as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family, just as she wished.
Shirley was born September 26th, 1937 in Buffalo, New York to Marion Mangus and Anthony Santasiero. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1955, where she met the love of her life, Charles J. Gervase, “Charlie” (deceased). Together, they built a beautiful life and family, which was always her pride and joy.
Shirley also created a career path for herself that included being involved in the Western New York Builder’s Association, where she became President of the Woman’s Auxiliary. She later went on to hold executive positions in Facilities Management for prestigious companies such as Bank Atlantic and American Express in South Florida. She earned several esteemed awards and accolades for her contributions and excellence in the industry.
Most important to her was watching her family expand and grow, with the addition of each new grandchild and eventually great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Charles R. (Barbara), Gregory S. (Darcy) and daughter Jacqueline, nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Shirley lovingly touched the lives of all those she knew, and will be forever missed, but we know she will always be near us in Spirit. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 16th, 2024, 5:30pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
An Interment in her hometown will be held at a later date.
