Shirley Gottfried Obituary
LIMA -- Shirley Louise Gottfried, age 75 of Lima, passed away at 2:39 p.m., Friday, July 4, 2025, at Lima Convalescent Home, in the arms of her husband.
She was born March 4, 1950, in Bedford, VA, to Claudie and Helen (Andrews) Overstreet who preceded her in death. On July 23, 1976, she married James Russell Gottfried who survives.
Also surviving are their sons: James Lee Gottfried and Michael Lee Gottfried both of Lima; grandchildren, Jameson & Kyndal Gottfried; plus the following siblings: Robert Overstreet of Bedford, VA, Frances (James-decd) Johnson of Bedford, VA, and Margie (Walter) Frazier of Inwood, WV; her in-laws: Donna (Jim) Frederick and Diane (Mike) Hilgert both of Lima, OH; plus many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
Shirley is preceded in death by the following siblings: Frank (Carol) Overstreet, Johnny (Nellie) Overstreet, Tommy Overstreet, Otey Overstreet, Wayne Overstreet, and Mary Weatherspoon; plus the in-laws: William Gottfried, Homer Gottfried, Mike Gottfried, and Bill (Judy) Yoder.
She was a great person, had a big heart, and was the nicest person you'd ever want to meet.
Her visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2025, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. Her funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Chaplain Glory Geib officiating.
