Shirley Nash Gryder, 84, of Lynchburg passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on July 29, 1941, in Pamplin, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Frank Fisher Nash and Christina Lee Nash. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Peters and husband, Donald of Amherst; her daughter’s father, Gene Gryder; four grandchildren, Melissa Carver and husband, Lyle, Michael Viar and girlfriend, Brittany Ennis, John Mello and wife, Andie, and Jennifer Mello-Minder and husband, Wesley Minder; three great-grandchildren, Charleigh Carver, Hadley Viar, and Waylon Mello; and step great-grandson, Oliver Barber.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Julie G. Mello; and brother, Clyde Nash.
A graveside service will be held 11am, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Centenary United Methodist Church Cemetery with Nancy Carwile officiating.
