Medford - Shirley Ann Hager of Medford, MN, died November 14, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial is set for Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church(205 2nd Ave NW, Medford). Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Medford Funeral Home (310 - East Central Ave). The visitation will continue Friday from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM, followed by a procession to the church for the Mass.
Shirley was born December 14, 1937, in Elysian Township rural Le Sueur County, MN. She attended high school in St. Peter, MN, and graduated in 1955. After high school, Shirley entered the work force. Shirley was united in marriage to John Hager on September 30, 1959, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Deerfield Township. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Medford, raising three children. Shirley worked for Jostens in the data processing department for many years, retiring in 1994.
Shirley was a member of Christ the King Church of Medford, Medford Civic Club, Extension Club, Red Hat Ladies, Bridge Club, and did quilting at Christ the King every Monday. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, hosting family gatherings, baking, and canning.
Shirley is survived by her children: Mary Ann (Mike) Jensen of Owatonna, Richard (Laurie) Hager and Mike Hager (Coleen Zimmerman), all of Medford; grandchildren Matt (Sadie) Jensen, Josh Jensen (Catlin Schneider), Brad (Janice) Hager, Alyse (Rudy) Miller, Wes (Alyssa) Hager, Derrick (Caramie) Dempsy and Chelsey Hager; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2022, her parents, and her sisters Lucille and Lorraine.
Shirley's family would like to thank the staff at Ecumen Brooks, St. Croix Hospice and Benedictine Healthcare for the wonderful care they provided.
