Shirley T. Hietala

Shirley T. Hietala, widow of Franklin E. Hietala, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at home.

Daughter of the late Frank and Irma Tracy of Hazardville. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Enfield born in the Hazardville section. Shirley was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoyed volunteering at Enfield Loaves & Fishes, and the Enfield Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with the Scantic Valley Antique Engine Club, the Mass Central Gas & Steam Club with her husband Frank.

Shirley leaves a sister Ethalyn Jakobowski of Southwick, Massachusetts; sons, Craig Hietala and his wife, Mary, of Enfield, Gary Hietala and his wife, Wendy, of Enfield, Brad Hietala and his wife, Linda, of Ellington. He leaves a daughter Andrea Weeks and her husband, Chuck of Holland Massachusetts. He also leaves grandchildren, Jeanne Hietala and her partner, Dave, Julie Rauschenbach and her husband, Eric, Brenda Smartz and her husband, Frank, Aaron Cramer and his wife, Donna, Pamela Cramer, Aaron Hietala and his wife, Amy, Brynn and Laura Hietala, Miranda Weeks and her fiancée, Conor, Larissa and Chad Weeks; as well as great-grandchildren, Jacob and his wife, Allison, Alex, Benjamin, Alexandra, Samantha, and Abbey; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her brothers Arthur and Robert Tracy.

Family and friends may gather at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, for a procession to Holy Trinity Church, 383 Hazard Ave, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery.
