Shirley A. Howard

Shirley Howard, 85 of Moulton passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Ottumwa. Shirley was born in Eldon, Iowa to Maurice & Edna (Myers) Swords on October 24, 1922. She received her education from Eldon High School in 1940. Shirley married Ermon "Ole" Howard in November 1987. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2003. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, sewing, her cats and time spent with her family. Shirley is survived by her daughters; Patty Steelman (Wayne Larsen) of Moulton, Sandy Brinegar (Wayne) of Decatur, Illinois, Cindy Woods of Worthington, Minnesota, Karen Strain (Bob) of Livermore, California, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister; Virginia from Summerville, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ole, a brother, Mike Swords and a sister, Maxine Potter. Her body has been cremated and services will be at a later date.
