Fond memories of my hometown friend! Our families attended St. Mark´s Catholic Church in Lake Andes SD. I would visit Shirley and her family on their farm. Shirley would stay at our home in town when she had after school activities during high school . We wrote letters, sent cards during the following years, and visited when Shirley and her family traveled to South Dakota to visit family and for school reunions. My condolences to Shirley´s family.

Remembering happy times with my dear friend Shirley. She was thoughtful, caring, able and willing to share her knowledge, full of life and fun. I will always remember her as she was in this photo. May Shirley´s memory be a blessing.

I first met Shirley 1.5 years ago when I showed up to a bridge game as a new player (still taking beginners classes!) and did not have a partner. Someone suggested I asked Shirley to partner and I did. She graciously agreed to be my partner and proceeded to coach me through the game, providing both positive and constructive feedback after many hands. I was amazed at her knowledge and her willingness to play bridge with someone like me who was just starting out. Playing with someone so experienced and knowledgeable gave me courage to go back and play again (and now I'm hooked!). I know she was a positive force in my learning and will forever be in my heart.

My heart is heavy with the passing of Shirley. She was generous and deeply cared about those learning to play bridge offering her help and guidance to the Wednesday mentored group. She was constantly calculating the percentages of hand possibilities. Her mind automatically went there. She will be missed. My condolences to Chris and her family. Peggy Dakin

As one of her bridge mentors for a small period of time, I can attest to her passion for bridge especially the math side of it. She would marvel at all the bridge intricacies I showed her and could tell she looked forward to the next bridge session with me. I will miss all of her energy and passion she exuded to each bridge game she attended.

Shirley's many friends at South Orange County Bridge Center will miss this very special lady. She was a kind and generous supporter of our bridge program, and an enthusiastic student of the game. Our hearts go out to Chris and the family.

I will miss Shirley playing bridge. She was a wonderful, sometimes unconventional, player and fun to have as an opponent. May her spirit live on with her family.

Shirley Hull Obituary
When you think of Shirley Hull, you can't help but remember her generous spirit, her math-centric mind, and of course, her ability to break into a yoga pose at a moment's notice. We'd like to think that she approached St. Peter at the Pearly... Read Shirley Hull's Obituary
