Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville ChapelShirley Darlene Jaggers, a beacon of love and compassion, was born on December 23, 1959, and departed this world on December 4, 2025. In her vibrant years, Shirley exemplified the virtues of kindness and generosity, cherishing the bonds of family and friendship. Her fiery spirit and open-hearted nature made her a cherished soul among those fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Shirley embodied the quintessential caretaker, often placing the needs of others above her own, selflessly nurturing both family and friends until her last dollar. She was deeply family-oriented, finding joy and fulfillment in her marriage, her children, and the grandchildren who brought her immense pride. Each accomplishment, particularly within her familial roles, marked her journey with rich memories and heartfelt moments.
An individual of many talents, Shirley found solace and inspiration through her hobbies and interests. Her love of reading transported her to different realms; writing poetry allowed her to express the depths of her soul; and gardening connected her with nature's beauty, the vibrant blooms reflecting her spirit. She also had an affinity for true crime television, finding intrigue in the stories that unfolded on the screen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony R. Jaggers and her parents, Maynard and Margarette Hopewell.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Dusty Jaggers and Toni (Josh) Smith; grandchildren, Felix and Isabell Smith; siblings, Steve (DeAnn) Hopewell, Debbie Ford, Kim (Bill) Frank and Timmy Hopewell numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The legacy of Shirley Darlene Jaggers will be celebrated and honored at a visitation and funeral service, to be held on December 18, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects from 10:00 AM until the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Following this, there will be a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY, at 2:30 PM, where her enduring spirit will find peace; along side her husband.
In the grand tapestry of life, Shirley Darlene Jaggers wove threads of love, resilience, and nurturing care. As we gather to remember her, let us carry her spirit forward, honoring her memory by embodying the warmth and kindness she bestowed upon so many.
