Shirley Ann Jones, 76, passed peacefully on September 2, 2025, at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. Born on October 31, 1948, in Childress, Texas, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Thelma (Graves) Moore. Shirley grew up in Texas and later moved to Kismet, Kansas, where she graduated from high school. She worked at the Newton Kansan newspaper in Newton.

Shirley had a passion for watching 'I Love Lucy,' 'The Golden Girls,' and professional wrestling, often being heard yelling at the wrestlers. She enjoyed listening to music from the 60s and 70s, coloring, and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her sons, Sean Moore and his wife Tawnya of Cimarron, and Jason A. Jones and Shanana of Newton; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ida Mae Sulenes of North Carolina and Mary Herrington of Woodward, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, and six brothers and sisters.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
