Shirley Webb Lirot, 90, of Huntersville, formerly of Hendersonville, died April 5, 2025 at Ranson Ridge. She was born on May 3, 1934 in Chicago, IL to the late Miles and Ann Webb. Shirley loved reading and playing bridge. She also enjoyed a good cup of hot tea as well as crocheting. Shirley loved to garden and grew many beautiful flowers including tulips and crocus. Her favorite houseplant was the African Violet. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She always enjoyed a good meal and seeing a play or multicultural event. She loved her cats--Ripley and Lily. Her sweet personality will be greatly missed by her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stephen J. Lirot.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Kaufman (Rick) of Lincolnton; sons, Michael Lirot (Sandra) of Plano, TX and Gregory Lirot (Christina) of Darien, CT; 9 grandchildren, Neil (Robin), Karen (Robby), Eric (Samantha), Amanda, Christopher (Erin), Connor (Tasha), Camden, Caleigh and Gregory, Jr,.; and 9 great-grandchildren, Scott, McKenzie, Michael, Robert, Caroline, Avery, Eloise, Emma, and Eva.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross redcross.org or the Smithsonian Institution, https://support.si.edu/. She cared deeply about both of these organizations.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 Sunday, April 6 in the chapel of James Funeral Home. Rev. Al Burnham will officiate.
