The force in life that was Shirley Sue Lohse passed into Heaven on September 26, 2023. She was born in Lamar, CO to Alleen and Maynard Wood, and graduated from Colorado Springs High School. Shirley married Roger Lohse and together they raised their two children, Leigh and Kent. She worked a variety of jobs before starting her long career in real estate and made many lifelong friends with her real estate clients. Shirley had a sharp wit to the end, entertaining her care givers with comments that only an 89-year-old can get away with. Shirley enjoyed traveling, often going to Hawaii with close friends Don and Patty Cloud. For many years they maintained a second home in Goodyear, AZ where they created enduring memories with their many golf friends, children, and grandchildren. Shirley's outgoing personality helped them make friends everywhere. Shirley is survived by daughter Leigh (Steven) Stock and son Kent Lohse, and grandsons Casey and Matthew Stock and Hunter and Larenzo Lohse, and friend Jim Fornia. Along with husband Roger, she was predeceased by her parents, brother Roy Wood, and daughter-in-law Lisa Lohse. A memorial may be planned at a later date. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Compassus and the many friends and family who reached out to express their condolences. Rest in Peace Shirley.

Aunt Shirley was a hoot! My Mom and Dad, Herman and Joyce Lohse always enjoyed the holidays getting together etc. We had quite the family fun. She definitely out lasted many. Blessings to Leigh and family, Cousin Kent Jesus bless and know Shirley is having a great time in Heaven.

Aunt Shirley was my birthday twin and I always remember her telling me that she was the queen and I was the queen in training. I have so many fond memories of her mainly her wonderful fashion and lipsticks. I will miss her very much! My condolences also go to all of our family, everyone is in my prayers.
