Shirley McCauley Obituary
June 8, 1934 - August 31, 2025
Shirley Lily McCauley passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 in Butte, Montana. She was born in Stevensville, Montana on Friday, June 8, 1934 to Toivo and Florence (Cottrill) Hubacka. She excelled at playing the violin in her youth and sat first chair in the orchestra. Upon graduation from Butte High School, Shirley went to work at First National Bank in Butte where she worked for almost ten years. She married Bob Lubick in August of 1952 and they had one son, Robert James. She later married Jerry McCauley on February 16, 1962.
Shirley and Jerry worked together for 18 years of their married life as owners of Jerry's Mobile Homes in Butte and Jerry's R V Center of Helena. Then they started a long and fulfilling retirement. Shirley had found the love of her life in Jerry and had many years of happiness doing all things together. Shirley and Jerry traveled extensively. They spent over 15 years in Mesa, Arizona in the winter months. They made many new friends and enjoyed golfing and exploring Arizona. Shirley also enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines during their time in Helena.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Jerri Ann (Larry) Meyers of Sparks, NV, Peggy McCauley of Billings, MT, son Stephen McCauley of Portland, OR, daughter-in-law, Colleen Lubick of Helena, MT. Grandchildren include: Trent McCauley of Butte, MT, Ryan Jean (Tater) MacDonald of Clyde Park, MT, Amy (Tom) Carlson of Helena, MT and Tony (Anna) Lubick of Helena, MT. Great-Grandchildren are: Lane Robillard and Ireland Curnow of Billings, MT, Quinn Carlson, Marsali and Harrison Lubick all of Helena, MT. She is also survived by her sister, Ada Everard of Eugene, OR, sister-in-law, Judy McCauley of Helena, MT, two aunts and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Richard McCauley, son, Robert James Lubick, parents, Florence and Toivo Hubacka and brother-in-law, Duane Everard.
Private family graveside funeral services will be conducted.
