Kaysville – in loving memory of Shirley Jeane Pietz McDaniel age 94. Shirley had been suffering from declining health for the past two years; she passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, in Layton, Utah due to complications of old age.

After their marriage they raised their 7 children in Robbinsdale, Minnesota where life as a busy mother was a revolving door of school and church activities, babysitting, church and recreational sports, neighborhood friends, etc. In 1995 they retired and moved to Kaysville, Utah to be closer to family.
Shirley joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1959. Her marriage to Francis was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in1962. She was an active member of the LDS church and fulfilled various church callings. She loved working on her genealogy and volunteered at the Kaysville Genealogy Library for many years. She served an LDS mission with her husband in San Jose, CA, in 2000.
