Shirley was a wonderful friend and help to my mother, Mignon Christley , the day she passed in 2000, in greenfield Missouri. She continued to correspond with me and my father,, Melvin Grant Christley each Christmas. If any of her family will see this, please know we loved her. Sincerely, Gail Christley Pines in montana

My cousin Shirley was one of the people I felt the closest to in my life. She made me feel loved and accepted even as she instructed us on doing what was right. She would say that our life here on earth was just preparing us for the next life. Once when one of my sisters offered me a financial donation toward a new tire to replace the one that had blown, I, knowing that her financial situation was more dire than mine, told her that she needed to hang on to her money in case she needed it. Shirley piped up and told me not to be depriving my sister of her Blessings! So I graciously accepted the gift. Shirley was almost 20 years older than the older kids in our family, so my dad had us address her as Aunt Shirley out of respect. And the kind of person she was, she most certainly deserved respect regardless. I will always love her!!!
