Shirley Mae Muntean, a beloved sister, aunt and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at the age of 82.
Shirley was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Mary and Eli Muntean. She is also preceded in death by four of her siblings: David, Donna, Tom, and Theda.
Left to cherish her memory along with her sister Elizabeth Workman, are numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her long-time friend and caregiver, Mary Pacilli, who was like a daughter to her. Shirley also leaves behind many "adopted" grandchildren: Alyssa, Christina, Stephanie, Christopher, Victor, Anthony, Josiah, Serenity, and Layla as well as one "great-granddaughter".
Shirley's faith was the cornerstone of her life. A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, she was devoted to sharing the love of Jesus with others, including praying and sharing devotions with anyone she could. Her strong faith and love for Christ were evident in every aspect of her life.
Shirley graduated with a bachelor's degree in Administration, and committed her professional life to serving others as a customer service representative in various banks.
Before moving to South Carolina, Shirley was a long-time resident of the Jacksonville, Florida Christian Apartments, where she formed many lasting friendships. Though she never married or had children of her own, Shirley's heart was full of love for people. Shirley never met a stranger. She enjoyed baking and sharing her treats with friends and neighbors. Her passion for anything "apple" extended from baked goods to home décor. Shirley also had a love for puzzles and games, and she cherished her daily walks and time spent outdoors.
In accordance with her wishes, Shirley will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
