SHIRLEY ROSE POLING, age 82 years, of Hudson, passed away on Thursday,
November 6, 2025, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility, Adrian. She was born on March 6, 1943, in
Hudson, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Moczarski) Rozelle. Shirley graduated from
Addison High School in 1961. She married Robert Poling on May 12, 1962, in Addison. He
survives.
Shirley was a member of the Rollin Baptist Church. She was a retired salesclerk for department
stores. Shirley loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are
her husband, Robert of 63 years, four children, Allen (Holly) Poling, Lisa (Matthew) Stodghill,
Amy (Marc) Conrad and Jill (Michael) Brockmann, nine grandchildren, Julie (Adam), Ben (Kristen),
Caleb, Paul (Nicole), Amanda (Cesar), Zachary (Katie), Joshua (Heather), Ryan and Megan
(Jaden), thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Stella Gifford and Evelyn (Scott) Cromer and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother,
Douglas and a brother-in-law, Larry Gifford.
A private family visitation was held at the Brown-VanHemert Funeral Home in Hudson with
cremation following.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lenawee or Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
