Shirley was born in Clarkston, MI on September 5, 1936, daughter of the late Roland and Genevieve (Weir) Wiechert. On June 9, 1956, Shirley married the love of her life, Ronald Douglas Pursley. Together they built a life grounded in commitment, laughter, and shared adventures. Whether traveling the open roads, camping under the stars, or spending cherished time in Arizona, Shirley and Ron created memories that would last a lifetime. Ronald preceded her in death on April 22, 2009, but the bond they shared remained an enduring part of her story. Shirley dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others. She worked as a Radiologic Technologist at Pontiac General Hospital, where her skill and compassion touched countless lives. She later continued her career in the office of Dr. Enderson and Dr. Crum in Clarkston, MI, where she retired after many faithful years of service. In every role, Shirley was known for her kindness, steady presence, and genuine concern for those around her. Beyond her career, Shirley found her greatest joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She treasured time spent with family, whose love and laughter filled her heart. She delighted in watching hummingbirds hover and cardinals brighten the yard - gentle reminders of beauty, hope, and the seasons of life she embraced so fully. Shirley will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering love for her family, and the quiet grace with which she lived each day. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she so generously gave.

Shirley is survived by 3 children, Kim Bentley, Jill (Garry) Murphy and Bob (Lori) Pursley; 5 grandchildren, Kristi (Shawn) McNally, Courtnie Bentley, Nicole Martin, Chelsea (Kyle) Schroeder and Madison (Matthew) Wangler; 7 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Bryce, Emery, Lulu, Callan, Declan and Grayson; great-great-granddaughter, Sophia; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Genevieve Wiechert; husband, Ronald Douglas Pursley; brother, Lyel (Mary) Wiechert; 3 sisters, Roberta (Howard) Steele, Audrey (Bud) Keyser and Phyllis (John) Fancher.
