Funeral service for Shirley Riley, age 81 of Como, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Matt Homer officiating. Interment will follow at Peerless Cemetery. Visitation will be held onehour prior to the service. Mrs. Riley passed away on May 6, 2025, at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.
Shirley was born on June 13, 1943, in Stamford, Texas, to Juston Jewel Mullins and Sallie Avis Sissell. She married Lee Roy Riley on December 25, 1958, in Cooper, Texas. She worked at Carlton’s Textile as a seamstress. Shirley loved helping others, and she always made sure that everyone was taken care of.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Roy Riley; son, Douglas Lee Riley; grandchildren, Justin Riley, Jake Riley and wife, Jessica, Amanda Matthews and husband, Josh; great-grandchildren, Aiden Riley, Isaac Riley, Elijah Riley, Kevin Kennemer, Kyla Kennemer, William Gilbert, Jesse Gilbert, and Morgan Gilbert.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maritta L. Abernathy; son, Roger Riley; and grandson, Brandon Riley.
