Shirley Riley, beloved wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma and sister, passed away in Laughlin, Nevada on Oct 27th, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, while on vacation with her husband.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 52 years, Johnny "Darnell" Riley; her son, Johnny Riley II of Albuquerque; her daughter, Shawn Rollins of Roswell; her son, David Terry of Bellevue, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren: John Rollins of Roswell, Becca Flores of Roswell, David Terry, Michael Terry, Jenna Terry, Stacey Bergman of Nebraska, Lilli Swift, Gwyn Boyer, Jackie Blackmon, Brandon Boyer, and six great-grandchildren: Shawnya Rollins, Savannah Rollins, and Dean Rollins of Roswell, and Miles Bergman, Ashton Terry, and Matilda Bergman from Nebraska; and her brother, Alfred Smith of Portales, and sister-in-law, Juanita Cornett of Eskridge, Kansas.
Shirley retired from Civil Service in 1996, but remained busy volunteering for the Officer's Wives Club, Airman's Attic, Red Cross, Make-A-Wish, Habitat for Humanity, and the VA Chapel. She was also a long-time participant at New Mexico Restaurant and Tourism functions.
Shirley dearly loved her husband, family, and friends. Her doors were always open for visitors and very importantly, she took good care of her "LOVE" Johnny Darnell for over 52 years, and she enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends, from all over the world. She had a heart of gold and was a warm and giving person who was always there to help whenever possible. She had many dear family and friends and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by everyone, but picture her peacefully entering the golden gates of Heaven.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Lomas Chapel.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
