Shirley Schmirler Obituary
The family of Shirley Schmirler, late of Regina, SK, sadly announce her passing on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Born to Adolph and Mable Macleod, of North Battleford, SK, she was the third of four daughters. Shirley grew up on a farm northeast of Glaslyn, SK where she attended Sibellake Country School until grade nine, and graduated from High School in Glaslyn.
Shirley met her future husband Arthur Schmirler on a blind date, and they were married on June 6, 1958. They lived in Saskatoon for a year, then moved to Bigger, SK to build a life together. From this relationship came three beautiful daughters Carol, Beverly, and Sandra. She was predeceased by her husband Art; daughter Sandra; grandson Kyle; sister Margaret; and brothers-in-law Bob, Bill, Glen, Lenny and Doallard. Shirley is survived by her daughter Carol (Mike); Beverley; son-in-law Shannon; grandchildren Chelsey, Katelyn, Daniel, Kristine, Sara, and Jenna; great-grandchildren Natalie, Brandon, Blake, and Reece; sisters Hazel and Hughene; sister in laws Edie and Vaughn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina, SK on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1:30 p.m.
