Shirley Scott Obituary

Scott, Shirley Ann, - 80, of Atlantic City, departed this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Shirley was born November 15, 1942, Mary Elizabeth and William Cutler in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Shirley attended Atlantic City public schools and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1961. She was employed by the Atlantic City Public Schools before becoming a cafeteria manager for the Tropicana Casino where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a kind loving soul, who loved attending family gatherings and building a lifetime of memories. She loved her family dearly. Shirley was a member of Atlantic City's New Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. Scott loved traveling up and down both the East and West Coasts of the United States and taking walking along the Atlantic City Beach and Boardwalk. She would profess that she was "a foodie-in-training", which led her to explore new restaurants. In additions to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her siblings: Ethel Hamilton, Doris Marshall, Thelma 'Sissy' Jones, Theresa Cutler and William Cutler. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: loving and devoted son, Ronald 'Peanut' Scott, Jr. (Beatrice); grandsons, Ronald Scott, III, and Bilaal Lewis; granddaughters: Aniyah Lewis, Janee and Jasmine Browne; 6 great-grandchildren; lifetime friends, Rosie Mitchell, Carol Terry and Margaret Sanders; and a host of devoted family, and close associates. Funeral services will be Noon, Saturday, January 7, 2023, New Shiloh Baptist Church, 701 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey where friends may call from 11AM. Interment to follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville, New Jersey. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Homes, Atlantic City, New Jersey where condolences may be left at www.greenidgefuneralhomes.com.
