Shirley Ann Snay, 92, of Presque Isle, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at MediLodge of Alpena.
Born in Detroit on April 29, 1933, Shirley was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Corcoran) Campbell. She married Paul Snay on July 14, 1951, and together they built a life full of love, faith, and family until his passing in 2008. Shirley was a devoted member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and carried her faith throughout her life.
Shirley had a deep love for her poodle dogs and found joy in their loyal companionship. She was an exceptional baker, known for her delicious pies and cookies, which she generously shared with family, friends, and neighbors. She loved to read, spend time outdoors, and was often found in her yard on Bell Bay. Throughout her life, Shirley was a devoted caretaker, always ready to lend a hand or provide comfort to friends and family in need. Her warmth, generosity, and strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She leaves behind her son, Cary (Margo) Snay; granddaughters, Rebecca (Thomas) Martines and Natalie Snay (fiancé Patrick Nienhaus); and great-grandsons, Ethan and Elliott Martines, who brought her immense joy. Shirley is also survived by her sister, Virginia (Dennis) Suenkonis; nieces, Denise (David) McClerren and Renee (Matt) Delaney; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her son, Daniel Snay; and her granddaughter, Amber Snay Lindros.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at Bannan Funeral Home in Alpena on Friday, June 27th, beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m., with Deacon Michael Roy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Grand Lake Library.
Shirley will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
