Janesville, WI - Shirley Elaine Steinborn, 77, of Janesville, WI, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Agrace Hospice in Janesville. She was born on July 15, 1947 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Melvin and Elaine (Rundgren) Sarow. Shirley was a 1965 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Shirley later graduated with a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. She married Richard Steinborn on January 30, 1970 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her on October 24, 2022. Shirley was formerly employed by the Beloit School District and worked at various Elementary Schools. In her younger years, she was a Girl Scout. She later became a Boy Scout Leader for her son, Eric. Shirley enjoyed reading and camping. She loved tending to her garden. Above all, Shirley adored her dogs. Survivors include her children, Eric (Lisa) Steinborn of Ft. Wayne, IN and Susan (Jamie) Bluhm of Janesville, WI; grandchildren, Lydia and Gabi Steinborn and Tyler (Meghan Peters) Roehl; great-granddaughter and birthday twin, Finley Mae; sister, Judy Sarow of Beloit, WI; cousins, other relatives, and friends; best friend since 5th grade, Laura Kostant of California; and all of her Teacher Group friends. Shirley was predeceased by her parents; husband; aunts; and uncles. Per Shirley's wishes, no services will be held.
