Shirley A. Storie, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, and has now joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in eternal rest.
Born in Marion, Virginia, where Shirley met and married the love of her life, she traveled to Hawaii with her husband and later settled in Virginia raising their three daughters. Shirley spent many cherished years in Fredericksburg before moving to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina in 2020 with her husband, their daughter Kimberly, and her husband, Frank. Together, they embraced coastal living and enjoyed the simple pleasures of the Lowcountry-especially fishing and fresh seafood.
Shirley was a loving mother, devoted wife, and a true homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Above all, she was a faithful Christian whose life reflected grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the Lord. She was known for her sweet spirit, gentle humor, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.
For many years, Shirley was an active member of her church choir, lifting her voice in praise. At home, she found comfort and happiness playing hymns on her organ-music she beautifully learned to play entirely by ear. She also loved simple adventures: day trips to the country for antiques, apples, fairs, and whatever surprises the day might bring.
Her children and grandchildren have many fond memories of going to their grandparents' home for holidays and visits.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66½ years, Paul Storie; and daughter, Pamela Maas.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Paula Sacra (Calvin) of Greensboro, NC and Kimberly Conner (Frank) of Georgetown, SC; she was a proud grandmother to Heather Gillespie (Joseph), Paul Maas (Erin), Kyle Sacra (Leah), Jennifer Beatty (Timothy), Ryan Conner (Kaitlyn), Ashley Earnest (Patrick), and Kaitlyn Hurley (Shawn); she was also blessed with several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A graveside service will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, where Shirley will be reunited with her beloved husband and welcomed into the arms of her Savior.
Her legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength will live on forever in the hearts of her family.
