Shirley Ann "Cissie" White - age 59 of Sweetwater, went to be with Jesus peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at her home. She was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. Shirley was born January 12, 1966 to Charles and Joyce White, Their fourth child, Shirley was - the BABY. Early on, she became Cissie. Cissie learned that being the baby had certain benefits and most of the time she got her way. Her brothers and sister - Yogi, Brenda, and Chuck loved and protected her because she was their baby. Cissie was loved by all but would forever be "a Daddy's girl".
Her only son, Matthew was such a joy to her and she was so proud of him. Like boys and their mommas often do they had their differences but when Cissie talked about Matthew her face would fill with pride.
Cissie had two beautiful girls that filled a place in her heart like only little girls can. Tiffany has that same caring spirit to reach out to those in need, just like her mom. Jessica needed a mom to dedicate special time and attention and to love her intensely and Cissie did just that, she loved and cared for Jessie with a passion like no one else.
Cissie's grandchildren Alexis, Ethan, Noah, Alayna, Christopher, Hayden and Ellie were all deeply loved and cherished by her and the memories she shared with them were precious. Her heart was broken with the loss of her dear grandson, Bryce who she finally got to meet on Sunday.
Cissie's life was filled with ups and downs, like most of us, but she had a gift for caring for people who couldn't always care for themselves. She made a career of giving emotional support and comfort to patients at their most vulnerable times as a CNA. When the time came that her parents needed that tender care she was there for them until the end.
As a special blessing God helped Cissie find love late in life and Douglas proved to be just what she needed to bring joy and happiness into her life. As a further special blessing, Douglas came to know Jesus during their marriage and Cissie had the great honor of seeing him baptized.
Cissie lived a full and fruitful life and she is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Charles (Charlie) White and Joyce Ann Johnson White, and her grandson, Bryce Owings.
Survived by her husband, Douglas Rice; children: Matthew Owings (Brandy), Jessica Owings, Tiffany Hall (Zachari); grandchildren: Alexis Owings, Ethan Estepp, Noah Owings, Alayna Owings, Christopher Owings, Hayden and Ellie Hall; siblings: Brenda White Bradshaw, and husband, Larry, Paul "Yogi" White and wife, Phyllis, Charles William White, Jr. and wife, Christy; uncle, Paul Thomas along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 13th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m.
Family and friends will gather at 10:30 Friday morning at the funeral home and proceed to Loudon County Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment at 11 a.m. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
