Shirley Jenene Wise departed this life on December 2, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 6, 1944, in Rockdale, Texas, to Hubert Foley and Avis Knight Foley. Her nurturing spirit and commitment to family were hallmark traits throughout her life.
Shirley's journey of faith was a significant part of her identity as she was a devoted member of the Baptist church, and she cherished the many relationships she built within her congregation and community.
She devoted herself as a homemaker, ensuring her family was always surrounded by love, comfort, and support. Shirley's legacy is one of unconditional love, sacrifice, and dedication to her family's well-being.
She is survived by her son, Dean Wise and his wife Donna, her daughter Tammy Schurig, and her daughter Audrey Real and her husband Jake. In addition, she is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Beverly Stobaugh, and Lynn Chenault with her husband Ronald. Shirley's family is further blessed with three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values she instilled in them.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Doug" Wise, and by her parents, Hubert Foley and Avis Knight. She is also preceded in death by three grandchildren, whose memories will forever remain in the hearts of her family.
A visitation will be held in Shirley's honor at Green - Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, Texas on December 12, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place at the same location on December 13, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by burial at Liberty Community Cemetery.
Shirley Jenene Wise will be deeply missed but her spirit will continue to inspire all those who knew and loved her.
