Shon Bryan Applegate Sr.

Shon Bryan Applegate Sr. 51 of Hamilton, VA, formerly of Princess Anne, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 25, 2025 after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.
Shon is survived by his wife, AnnMarie Applegate, his son Patrick Applegate and his wife Rachel, and his daughter Cierra Applegate. In addition to his mother, Susan Mell he is also survived by his sister Misty Maldonado and her husband Jeff who he considered one of his closest brothers, his sister Jessica Bell and her husband George, His mother and father in law Ed and Mary Jordan and a host of many nieces and nephews and great friends. Shon was also blessed with a best friend Aaron Perry and his wife Rebecca all of which will miss him tremendously.
He was preceded in death by his other son Shon Applegate Jr., his father Harry Mell, his brothers Michael and Shane Booth and his sisters Kelli and Ruthie Applegate.
Being raising on the Eastern Shore of MD, nothing Shon loved to do more than going fishing with his family and friends. He loved all the shore things but he felt nothing could ever compare to the fishing and sunsets on the bay. There was never a person he didn't want to teach how to fish.
Almost 20 years ago, he moved to Northern Virginia and started a successful business S & A Handyman Services until his illness. He was known for a craft that most could only wish for, he could fix anything including the things that people said couldn't be.
Viewing and visitation will be held at Hall's Funeral Home 140 S. Nursery Ave. Purcellville, VA 20132 on Sunday October 5, 2025 from 10am to 12pm. Reception immediately following the service at Harmony Hall, Hamilton, VA
