It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Shyann Francine Gallegos, 40, of Bloomfield, NM, on March 5, 2025. Shyann was born in Durango, CO, to Simon and Debbie Gallegos on October 16, 1984.
Shyann graduated from Bloomfield High School, where she was a State Champion in softball and played third base with passion and dedication. She was a devoted mother of two and the loudest cheerleader at all their sporting events. A true outdoorswoman, she found joy in fishing, camping, hunting, and boating. Navajo Lake held a special place in her heart, and she spent every summer there. In 2019, she met and fell in love with Steve Matta, and together, they traveled around the world, making cherished memories.
She is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Trace Kinslow; uncles Lenny Gallegos and Fidel Saiz; aunts Dianna Troxell and Jeanette Saiz; cousin Logan Gallegos; and grandparents Simon and Frances Gallegos, and Doyle and Dorthy Troxell.
She is survived by her greatest loves, her children, Jett Travis Elledge and Mesa Rose Elledge, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind the love of her life, Steve Matta; her devoted parents, Simon and Debbie Gallegos; her loving siblings, Destry Gallegos, Doylynn Robinson, and Shanda Kinslow; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
A Rosary will be held at St. Rose Parish in Blanco, NM, officiated by Deacon Pat Valdez. Family and friends are welcome to join us for a reception following the Rosary.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Shyann’s memory by performing an act of kindness for someone in need.
