SID didn't have to work hard at being a funnyman, it was in his SOUL, his expressions, he was a natural born authentic COMEDIAN...hard to come by these days......GONE NOT FORGOTTEN..RIP

Wow......I can't believe it. Sid died on the same day my dad did. (Cleveland Ohio)

Wow, I can't believe he passed away. He was a great actor and a great comedian. I loved his face expressions and how his character complemented the movies... I remembered his play on "Vegas Vacation", 1997 at the casino, he was hilarious. I hope the family is doing fine in coping with the loss...however, I hope that our Heavenly Father grant them, specially those who were very close to him, the strength and comfort in this moments of pain. Just cling to God's loving provisions and He will draw closer to you and fortify you. Once again, my most sincere condolences.

To the family of Sid Caesar: I offer my condolences for your great loss. I met Sid in the mid 1980's when I worked at NBC. My boss was helping him to transfer some of his old kinescopes to video tape. My mother at the time was visiting from NJ and she and I purchased
the book "Where Have I Been" which Sid wrote. He was so gracious and signed our books. My mother and I were so delighted for this experience. Sid was one of a kind, a comic genius and I will never forget the joy he brought to so many people. He was able to connect to people regardless of their backgrounds. He was simply wonderful and I will miss him very much. Rest in Peace dear friend.

My heartfelt condolences for the death of a gifted entertainer and talented actor. I was so deeply inspired by Sid's obituary. I try to gain unlimited wisdom through the life experiences of others. He has taught me to be the best I can be; but at the same time, know my limitations and never allow myself or what I can do be defined by others. I am so thankful to Sid for entertaining us so well through the years; he will be dearly missed but will remain precious in God's eyes. Hoping the Caesar family is comforted by the God of all comfort and the loving encouragement of each other.

I grew up in the 50's and 60's and remember how funny Mr. Ceasar was. I'm sorry for your loss. May you find comfort and hope from what is promised at John 11:11,21-26.

As a comic artist, Sid Caesar was in a class by himself. Unfortunately filmed examples of his unadulterated work have been scarce since the 1950s. Generations have grown up unfamiliar with the trailblazing genius of Sid Caesar in early television. In 1982 when Saturday Night Live made him an honorary cast member, the gesture was more than fitting. Without Sid Caesar and the work he performed in the early 1950s on NBC, there never would have been a SNL. Rumor has it that the Sid Caesar estate sits on many hours of his vintage kinescopes. Perhaps the time has come to release that material uncut on Blu Ray so that the world can see what it has lost.

It was hard losing Shirley Temple Black, the other day, now our beloved Sid Caesar is gone. I remember him when he was a pioneer of television, in the field of comedy. Who could forget him and his comedic partner, Imogene Coca, who also made a name for herself, in the classic t. v. show, "It's About Time", those who have seen it will know what I am talking about. Sid was a smart comedian who, in a way, poked fun at life, families, etc., but did it with wit and irony you don't find too often. He had great writers to help him, some you would recognize, too many to mention, but he was not afraid to also poke fun at himself. Thank you Sid for the several decades of entertainment I had. You were one of the best. Bet you will be meeting some of the old gang in Heaven. I don't think God and Jesus would mind the laughter.
