Just saw the Texas Country Reporter visit to the ice cream shop. So sorry to see the death of Mr. Clemmer. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. I hope to visit the ice cream shop he so enjoyed on day.

Didn't meet Sid Clemmer until he was in his 60's. Sid was a quiet man. Reserved. But when he spoke, wisdom and great spiritual maturity came forth. And even in his 70's, when we worked together, I had to hustle to keep up with him. Sid taught me the positive attributes of perfectionism. I taught him how to be patient with people like me. Throughout his life, from youth ministering to businessman, Sid was a man of conviction. He had no fear of the death cancer brought him. A few years ago, when he spoke to me of the role of Santa Clause, he noted that my profile was approaching that of Santa's. (I eventually forgave him for that!) When we last spoke two weeks ago, my hand on the back of a body so thin and ravaged, about the last thing I said was, "You know...you're STILL more handsome than I am." He didn't smile, just look at me and said, "There's nothing I can do about that, Ben." Your life touched so many of us, Sid. See you in Heaven!"
