Sidney Ray Boutwell Jr.

I served with Brother Boutwell in patrol squadron 17 (VP-17). Homeported at the Barbers Point Naval Air Station. We did a deployment to the Cubi Point Naval Air Station together.

It is with Great sadness that I learned of your passing. You were a very good man. You always treated everyone I know with respect. God Speed my friend.

I am sorry for the loss of your love one. May the God of all comfort give you the strength to cope with your grief.

I am so sorry to hear of Sid's passing. I met Sid around 1979 and he was such a colorful yet down to earth spirit that he has remained in our thoughts ever since. He may be gone but his memory will carry on.

Lisa-Website seems to be down. This is what I'm trying to post:Sid, you were such a great friend. I loved your happy nature, your love of life, and most of all your quick wit. I loved your generosity - not only money, but time and love. You always included me as one of your girls. I can still hear you asking, "you girls need some lunch money?" You were generous with my best friend, teaching her to love and trust again.Sid, your mantra was "work smarter, not harder." You always looked for trips that the 3 of us could fly together. We always had so much fun! One time, our FO said to me," I would give anything to have the friendship you guys have." Indeed, it was very special. Sid, you were so fiercely loyal to those you loved. I always admired that. You were a great shoulder to cry on. I'm sorry that we didn't have many more years together. I'm sorry that we never got to have that wedding that Lisa and I planned constantly, with you in the background moaning, " oh dear Lord!"We had a great ride Cowboy. Knowing you was a true gift.
