Sidney Bruce "Sid" Hatfield

Sidney "Sid" Bruce Hatfield, 74, of Thacker, WV, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, January 3, 2026, while an inpatient in the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. He was born November 24, 1951, in Oceana, WV to the late Lloyd and Sadie Hatfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Williams, his two brothers, Ronald Hatfield and Billy Hatfield; and his four sisters, Rosetta Ball, Loraine Vanover, Shirley Maynard, and Ruth Hatfield.

Sid was a proud United States Marine Veteran and a hardworking man who spent his life providing for those he loved. He worked as a mechanic for Bruce Walters Chevrolet and B&C Oil for about 10 years, and later drove truck over the road for approximately 15 years. A faithful member of Newtown Pentecostal Church in Newtown, WV, Sid loved going to church and being among his church family. He found great joy in the simple things, especially fishing, spending time with his family, and making memories with those closest to him. Above all, Sid loved his family deeply and will be remembered for his devotion to them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 13 years, Bonnie Hatfield, whom he cherished and loved with all his heart; his children whom he loved including his sons, Jeremy Williams and his wife Angelina and Daniel Williams; and his daughters, CaSondra Williams, Dawn Hatfield, Emily Hatfield, Serenity Hatfield, Bella Hatfield, Priscilla Hatfield, and Nova Hatfield; his treasured grandchildren, Angel Williams, Arionna Williams, Aleigha Williams, Chloe Williams, Brianna Williams, Bryson Williams, Aiden Williams, and Andrea Williams, Each of whom will carry his love and memory forward. Sid also leaves behind his brothers, Junior Hatfield and Thomas Hatfield; and his sisters, Juanita Skiddmore and her husband Harold, Brenda Trent, Jane Hatfield, and Mary Blair;

The family will begin receiving friends on Monday, January 5, 2026, and Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in the Newtown Pentecostal Church of God, 1752 Mate Creek Rd., Newtown, WV 25678, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., with special services beginning at 7:00 p.m. each evening

Honoring services will be held in the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, with Pastor Gary May officiating. Burial will then follow in Thacker Community Cemetery of Thacker, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
