Sidney Wolfenson

Wolfenson, Sidney 95, of Galveston, TX, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, in Fairburn, Georgia, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, where he had lived for the past five months. He was born May 20, 1918, in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota. Sidney came to Houston in 1943 to help build war ships for the Navy. He worked as a general contractor on various projects, including the Galveston Yacht Basin. Sidney also started his own industrial electrical company, Wolfenson Electric Corporation, and worked closely with Dow Chemical for many years. He is survived by his son, Art Wolfenson and wife, Gayle, of Fairburn, GA, and a sister, Bernice Cohen, of California. A memorial service and gathering of friends will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 25th, at 4120 West Bayside Way in Jamaica Beach, TX. Anyone who would like to share an interesting story or conversation concerning Sidney is welcome.
